The Nashville Film Festival – 50th Anniversary

The Nashville Film Festival (NashFilm), held annually in Nashville, Tennessee, is an Academy Award qualifying event and the oldest running film festival in the United States. The festival also offers a screenplay competition with features, teleplays and shorts categories and a web series competition. In addition to ten days of film screenings, the festival provides industry panels, music showcases, parties and receptions. It was voted as one of “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” by MovieMaker Magazine “One of the Best Film Festival Prizes” by Film Festival Today.

This year they celebrated their 50th anniversary and Mark was in attendance as his screenplay ‘Cyborn’ was in the finals and nominated for ‘Best Comedy Feature.’   He mingled with the stars in the VIP room, watched some amazing films and was pleasantly surprised when a team of actors performed a scene from Cyborn in a table read as part of the screenplay awards.

Cyborn is performing well in competition. In addition to Nashville, it is a finalist in Filmquest and Shriekfest. If you would like to read Cyborn, please contact Mark.
